Xalaat Africa Summer Workshops
Drum and Dance Workshops June 17-July 12, 2024
Xalaat Africa will bring our artists to your site to work with youth and adults for one to five days.
Traditional African Dance Class
This class will focus on the fundamentals of traditional African dance beginning with a warm-up, technical instruction, and a cool-down. Classes are 1 hour.
Contemporary African Dance Class
This class will focus on learning Afro-dance, which is a fusion of traditional and urban dance forms, including warm-up, technical instruction, and a cool-down. Classes are 1 hour.
Dance Fitness Class
This class will focus on health and fitness and uses the fundamentals of African dance to facilitate a low-impact workout for youth and adults. Classes are 1 hour.
Performances
Xalaat Africa Drum and Dance for Life Youth Ensemble will perform at your site for 1 hour.
Fees
All fees are a flat rate for two to four artists providing services.

Weekly Dance class schedule
African Dance Class
Our African dance class is a beginning level class for ages 8 & up. Children and Adults are welcome. The class begins with a general warm-up followed by an exciting class with live drumming! All classes end with a general cool-down and stretch.
